Note the foods that are "free" in reasonable portions on your meal plan. Use an indelible marker to write it right on the container. Make sure you stick with the serving size to avoid having too many carbs. Most diabetic meal plans consider anything under 5 crabs per serving "free" food, however, if you are a low carb plan, that number will be lower.
